Alejandro Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain OST 1973

Yep, soundtrack time. My first soundtrack post will be dedicated to the avantgarde movie Holy Mountain by the great Alejandro Jodorowsky, his third full length movie and in my opinion his best, although El Topo is very good to. The movie just plain weird, its about this christ-ish figure joining up with a alchemist that can make gold out of shit! With him and seven other people, each representing a planet, they plan to take the holy mountain from the gods, so they can be immortal. In between all this there are more crazy stuff going on. And the end is just classic. This is a "must see" movie. Well, the music in the movie is mix between jazz, psychedelic rock, horns, tribal drumming, chanting, keyboard freak outs and of course some "standard" string score. A little bit for every taste and distaste.

So enjoy the soundtrack, and if you haven't seen the movie, GO GET IT, you haven't seen anything like it, trust me. The box set called "The films of Alejandro Jodorowsky" is highly recommended.

From the holy mountain,
Judas Eukaryote

The music is composed by: Alejandro Jodorowsky, Ronald Frangipane and Don Cherry and recorded in 1973.

  2. Oh God, thank you for this masterpiece of motion picture soundtracks! Pure quality compared with the poor sound of the movie itself.
